Are you looking to transfer skills, knowledge, and experience to young entrepreneurs, innovators, and community youth leaders? Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) Tanzania is seeking dynamic career figures to play a role in the DOT Mentorship Program, commencing January 2023 for a period of 1 year.
DOT is a not-for-profit organization that mobilizes and inspires all underserved and disadvantaged young people with digital literacy, 21st-century skills, and the self-confidence that will enable them to thrive in an inclusive digital economy. We work with youth, the private sector, governments, and community-based organizations towards a collaborative vision of communities around the world shaped by daring social innovators.
We are an international non-profit organization founded in 2001 with headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. DOT has extensive global coverage with five locally registered African country affiliates: Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and South Africa, and two in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region: Jordan and Lebanon. In addition, it maintains youth partnership networks in Uganda, Ghana, Malawi, and Zambia.
As a result, DOT has built a global network of over 6,000 young women and men who have delivered digital literacy, entrepreneurial education, and enterprise development to over a million people to enhance livelihoods and financial inclusion.
These are young graduates who have been engaged in a one-year youth leadership program where they have been empowered as catalysts of positive change. They developed competencies in digital business program facilitation, ICT literacy, gender equality, entrepreneurship, and 21st-century skills with practical application to their daily lives and business under a 1-year placement program.
DOT Youth gather the skills, knowledge, and networks to make a change. They have trusted channels into their communities with the ability to adapt and respond quickly to emerging community needs. Youth in DOT’s network are empowered with digital skills, gender equality, and facilitation knowledge necessary to innovate where their communities need it most rapidly.
During the DOT Tanzania Mentorship Program 2023, you will provide motivational support and guidance to the DOT youth, and increase opportunities for advancing the DOT Youth in business startup, growth, and sustainability, including networking support, and access to finance, leading to a platform opportunity for youth employment and career growth, economic growth and community engagement;
